About

I’m Nink, Ning Kai, an experience designer focused on complex enterprise products.

From cloud infrastructure to retail, I care about helping people understand how a system fits together and get their work done. I also turn decisions made in practice into rules, tools and methods that can be used again.

Work

How I work

  1. Understand the task before the interface

Start with who needs to do what, where information comes from and where work changes hands. Clarify the objects, relationships and states before arranging the page.

  2. Let evidence change the design

Use interviews, usability studies and prototypes to test decisions. Look for shared patterns while respecting familiar workflows and differences between contexts. Revisit the problem when evidence challenges the solution.

  3. Carry the learning forward

Turn recurring decisions into guidelines, components, review methods and written reflections. When working with AI, I own business and experience decisions, scope and human review, with tools supporting implementation and validation.

Exploring now

Through DesignKit, I’m exploring how shared experience rules can connect design, code and AI collaboration. Components, templates and different starter formats are tested against concrete business prototypes.

I’m also writing about complex enterprise products, navigation and component experiences, keeping a record of the decisions, problems and revisions along the way.

Test it in practice. Keep what you learn.
